You could use the app to view information about Lego sets and minifigures.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The app got its information, images, and other metadata from&nbsp;the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.brickset.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">BrickSet website<\/a>, a pretty rich repository of Lego information. It\u2019s also worth noting that there are other sites on the web that integrate with Brickset for providing additional information about your collection. For example, Rebrickable tells you what else you can build with the bricks you have from the assorted sets you own.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"444\" height=\"244\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/simpkins.social\/cliff\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/03\/BrickMgr-Screenshots.png?resize=444%2C244&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-162\" srcset=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/simpkins.social\/cliff\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/03\/BrickMgr-Screenshots.png?w=444&amp;ssl=1 444w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/simpkins.social\/cliff\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/03\/BrickMgr-Screenshots.png?resize=300%2C165&amp;ssl=1 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 444px) 100vw, 444px\" \/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p>Using the app, you could view the following information on any Lego set that BrickSet tracks:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Set metadata (release year; number of pieces; number of minifigs; and set description (if available))<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Images of the set (which you can then click into and pan + zoom)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Retail pricing (US and UK) as well as SKU barcode numbers<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Instruction sets for assembling the set (really cool), which will open in your installed PDF reader<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>View listings and pricing on Amazon and eBay, which were indexed daily<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The app used advertising as its very basic monetization approach. I had evaluated using affiliate monetization via the Amazon and eBay links but didn&#8217;t go that route that because it would compete with Brickset&#8217;s monetization.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">WoW Guild Roster<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/codeplexarchive.org\/codeplex\/project\/WowGuildRoster\">CodePlex Project<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Back in mid-2000&#8217;s, early in the days of World of Warcraft, I was the webmaster for my guild&#8217;s website, which I ran using DotNetNuke (&#8216;DNN&#8217;).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I also wrote a DNN module, using .NET Code to implement a guild roster for World of Warcraft (WoW). The code helped with guild management &#8211; downloading (from the WoW Armory database) and storing information for multiple guilds and multiple characters. It stored basic character demographic information and all stats\/reps. Additionally, it allowed for association of mains\/alts and tracking character data back to DNN users. This module formed the basis for a wide range of modules, including calendaring and loot tracking.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Brick Manager Note: This app is no longer available;
